System Engineer [Network Appliance]
Location: Bay Area

Description:

CMT is looking for a real self starter to join our system engineering and professional services team as a Network Appliance storage specialist. You should also have a decent grasp of the issues and solutions surrounding Disaster Recovery including knowledge of backup and recovery, high availability, clustering, WAN failover and server virtualization. This position will focus mostly on the Network Appliance platforms and relevant storage solutions. It will be best suited to a motivated individual that can work successfully both as part of a team and independently. The position will require excellent communication skills to adequately perform both presales and professional services. The person will need to constantly improve their technical skills and will be required to attend education and achieve and maintain industry/vendor certifications on various products and services based on company objectives.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have a good working knowledge of the NAS, Fiber Channel SAN, iSCSI WAFS, Microsoft Windows, UNIX (Sun Solaris, AIX, HPUX), and Linux architecture, specifically relating to storage connectivity and file server management. Genuinely empathizing with our customers' data management, Disaster Recovery or archiving challenges (from first-hand experience) to earn credibility will be essential. The candidate must possess strong presentation skills to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. The candidate must be able to think quickly and formulate a solid technical response during presentations. Candidate should be willing to perform hands on technical professional services at customer sites.

Description:

This position will focus mostly on the Microsoft Windows platform and relevant storage solutions. It will be best suited to a motivated individual that can work successfully both as part of a team and independently. Field Sales Rep
Location: Positions in Bay Area

Description

The role of the Field Sales Rep is to provide a consultative sales approach. We expect each sales professional to be capable of "grease board" selling. This role is for new territory development. The ability to understand, discuss, and outline a customer’s environment in respects to solutions we provide, is critical. This individual will work closely with the CMT Engineering, CMT Purchasing, and CMT Vendors and will need to be organized, thorough, detail oriented, reliable and an excellent communicator. The ability to multi-task is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

Manage complex sales campaigns with new customers across all industries within the SF Bay Area. This is a HUNTING role. This is a NEW Territory Role. Develop and maintain relationships with Symantec, VM Ware, Data Domain, Rackable Systems, Pillar Data, EMC, Topio, Quantum, and other vendor partners. Develop new business from initial account planning and inception through engagement closure by implementing CMT’s corporate strategies. The Field Sales role is responsible for meeting a portion of CMT’s annual revenue objectives.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Sales in Enterprise Data Management Solutions.
  • Sales experience at the Cxx level; Proven
  • Sales experience in Leveraging Indirect Models Utilizing Partners.
  • Entrepreneurial in nature with an interest in new and emerging technologies.
  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience with a strong understanding of consultative and solutions IT selling.
  • Excellent relationship manager, engaging prospects / clients capability and strong credibility
  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Project a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions
  • Possess a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills
  • Identifying, developing, negotiating, and successfully closing new engagement agreements with clients
  • Ability to develop complex, multi-service, multi-year service partnerships with high potential for repeat business.
  • Initiating and influencing internal resources / practices to effectively coordinate targeted sales and business development efforts in a team-based sales approach.

  • BA/BS degree desired.

Engagement Manager [Professional Services/Presales]
Location: Bay Area

Description:

Due to the strong growth of its professional services wing, we are seeking a professional services engagement manager. The ideal candidate will not only have the ability to interface with multiple clients and track multiple projects, but will also be able to understand the technical issues at play behind these engagements. A successful Engagement Manager will have extensive project management and logistical experience, and should be comfortable creating meeting agendas, scheduling and time tracking for engineers (as well as for yourself), and be able to recognize and handle political situations by phone, email, and in person. In addition, the engagement manager will act as the liaison between the internal sales force and the engineering team, in order to ensure proper project management, tracking, and fulfillment. Strong documentation and communication skills are required. Experience in the Value Added Reseller world is a plus, but not a requirement. This position will report daily to the VP Engineering, and will be a high visibility post. In addition, this position will also be able to guide the growth of the professional services department to allow for greater efficiency and the streamlining of future professional services engagements.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have a good working knowledge of project and engagement management, with specific experience in managing technical projects. Proven success at managing multiple projects in various stages of completion will be a key differentiator. The candidate must be able to succinctly demonstrate a highly functional level of communication, both in written and in verbal form. The individual fulfilling this position must have proven experience with tracking both “time and materials” projects, as well as "fixed price" contracts. Logistics and calendar management will also be vital qualifications for this post. Genuinely empathizing with our customers' challenges (from first-hand experience) to earn credibility will be indispensable. The candidate must possess or develop good presentation skills to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. The candidate must be able to demonstrate political acumen, gained from experience in a sales or professional services fulfillment organization. PMP certification a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • The key responsibility of this position is to be a technical engagement manager for professional services engagements.   This includes responsibility for all aspects of the project from the proper receivership of the engagement from the sales team, to logistical support, to technical engagement, and finally to closeout and follow up. 
  • Manage and report upon the allocation of consulting resources to current projects and their status
  • Manage and write customer facing documentation, including Statement of Work agreements, responses to RFP's, end-user run-books, etc.
  • Work with management and staff to streamline the (or help define new) professional services engagement processes in order to maximize project and resource efficiency and cost/benefit ratio
  • Be the communications conduit through which the professional services organizations will contact and manage the client, project, and/or any issues that may arise.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for any project or technical issues that may arise during a project.
  • Be able to work in highly political situations
  • Writing formal and informal responses to client questions. This includes answering emailed questions, creating Microsoft PowerPoint slideshows, etc.
  • Ability to travel and perform billable professional services management at customer sites if required by the client.
