CMT Presents Data Loss Prevention Learning Sessions

“Anatomy of a Breach” Panels Focus on Risk Factors and Defense against Data Breach for Chief Risk Officers and Chief Information Officers

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (August 18, 2009) – CMT today announced it will host informative sessions on data loss prevention (DLP) as part of a road-show series designed to provide CIOs and CISOs with practical knowledge of the primary defenses against data breach including DLP, endpoint protection, host intrusion detection systems (HIDS) and security information and event management (SIEM).

“Data breach is one of the most critical security challenges that enterprises face today,” said CMT President and CEO Kurt Klein. “Protecting the perimeter is no longer enough. CIOs and CISOs need to understand how to implement integrated countermeasures that defend against today’s most serious attacks rather than just individual point solutions.”

CMT’s “Anatomy of a Breach” sessions feature a panel discussion with Kevin Rowney, founder of Vontu, the data loss prevention company that was acquired by Symantec in 2007. Rowney will provide an overview of trends, causes and circumstances of data breach and discuss the underlying risk factors involved in large scale breaches. A CMT certified DLP expert and a current customer utilizing Symantec Data Loss Prevention as part of CMT’s Absolute Management™ practice will also sit on the panel.

CMT has added three “Anatomy of a Breach” sessions to its schedule including:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in Costa Mesa, Calif.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in Bellevue, Wash. (during SecureWorld Expo Seattle)
  • October event planned in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Seating is limited and pre-registration is required to attend these private, invitation-only events. For registration and event information, please call +1 (800) 969-4268.

CMT’s Absolute Management practice helps organizations to protect their most sensitive data and empowers them to safely conduct business. Absolute Management integrates Symantec Data Loss Prevention with other best-of-breed solutions from Symantec, including asset management, archiving, compliance and endpoint security. Absolute Management enables CMT’s customers to manage risk, protect their confidential data and meet regulatory compliance requirements such as Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and more than 44 state privacy laws.

CMT CELEBRATES 25 YEARS AND FORESEES CONTINUED GROWTH

Company Marks Milestone with Donation to Easter Seals South Bay Chapter

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (May 28, 2009) – CMT, a trusted provider of efficient computing solutions for high-performance data management, virtualization, consolidation and infrastructure management, today celebrates its 25-year anniversary and thanks customers and partners that have helped make CMT a success. By building strategic partnerships with world-leading IT manufacturers, CMT has delivered best-of-breed technology solutions and computing services that ensure its customers’ success since 1984.

“CMT’s growth stems from our philosophy that if you take care of the people first, the rest will fall into place,” said CMT President and CEO Kurt Klein. “Thanks to our outstanding employees, customers, partners and distributors, CMT has continued to advance with technology and solve the business challenges of our customers. Our growth has been very organic and we attribute this to our commitment to delivering solutions and services that cost-effectively serve the best interests of our customers.”

CMT has sustained profitable growth for 25 years by continuing to exceed the expectations of its growing customer base— for the past three years, the company has consistently achieved 20 percent growth each year. CMT now serves more than 200 active clients including Google and Expedia.

CMT has never rested on its accomplishments; the company has strategically enhanced its line card over the years, but has kept its solution set exclusive to best-of-breed technologies. CMT’s success is directly related to the strong relationships it has forged with partners including Symantec, Quantum, Dell, NetApp, Brocade and VMware, as well as its legacy partnerships with Servertech, Damac and Maxell.

“Since its founding, CMT has been a Quantum channel partner dedicated to our mutual success, and we congratulate them on this important milestone,” said Mark Bramel, Vice President of Channel Sales at Quantum, a global leader in backup, recovery and archive. “We will continue to depend on their strong sales and technical knowledge as we build out our portfolio of integrated solutions encompassing disk-based deduplication and replication systems, tape offerings and data management software.”

Looking toward the future, CMT will maintain its focus on offering technology solutions and services that make sense for its customers and business model. CMT recently adopted the Symantec Data Loss Prevention solution and joined Dell’s PartnerDirect program as a Certified Dell Partner with specialization in enterprise architecture. CMT will continue to achieve the highest level of accreditation with its partners, so that the company can best meet the needs of its customers.

In thanks to its customers for their support over the past 25 years, CMT is offering a 25-percent discount on engineering services for installation and software upgrades, as well as its back-up and recovery new service assessments. Customers can take advantage of this promotion from May 28 through June 28, 2009.

Additionally, CMT will mark this significant milestone with a $2,500 donation to the Easter Seals Bay Area Chapter. Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for more than 80 years. An anonymous donor is matching the $2,500 donation from CMT for a total donation of $5,000. The donation will be presented to the Easter Seals Bay Area Chapter at a private event for CMT customers and partners on May 28, 2009.

“Giving back to our community remains a core value of CMT. Easter Seals is a worthy cause that we have supported over the years,” said Klein. “Our hope is that this donation will help families in the South Bay who are coping with disabilities.”
